Martin, Tenn.–A Dresden man was arrested after crashing a stolen semi into a residence around 5:30 a.m. Saturday.
Michael R. Bowers, age 30, was arrested Sunday afternoon after running from the scene. He is charged with felony theft, two counts of felony vandalism, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, criminal trespass and ignoring duty upon striking fixtures.
Martin Police officers responded to 404 Olney St. on a report of a semi-truck striking a residence. On arrival, Ptl. Nick Combs discovered that a semi-truck had been driven into a portion of the residence and that the driver had fled the scene on foot. There was extensive damage to the truck and residence.
According to the press release, Officers discovered that the truck had been stolen from the lot at Turner Grain located on Lindell St. and that it belonged to Freeman Farms from Martin. Further investigation revealed that the incident had stemmed from a domestic dispute between the resident and Bowers.
