Mayfield Man Charged With Assault, Burglary

Murray, Ky.–A Mayfield man was arrested in Murray Sunday on burglary and assault charges.
John Thomas, age 21, was arrested by Calloway County deputies after he fled the scene.
At 11:10 a.m. Sunday, November 17, Murray Police officers responded
to a residence on Ryan Avenue for a reported fight in progress.
Upon arrival at the scene officers located a male victim who was visibly injured and a
female who claimed she was assaulted as well.
According to the Murray Police Department press release, the two assault victims stated they were assaulted by Thomas, who then fled from the residence in his vehicle. The male and female both said they were in their home when Thomas came to the door and upon entering the house, began assaulting the male victim and then the female.
A short time after Thomas fled the scene, a Calloway County Sheriff’s Deputy was able to locate and stop John Thomas near Flint Church Road and US 641, who had visible injuries from the altercation.
After an investigation into the incident and after speaking with witnesses to the incident,
an arrest warrant was obtained for Thomas. John Thomas was arrested by Murray Police
Department Officers and charged with one count of 2nd Degree Burglary and two counts of 4 th
degree assault. He was lodged in the Calloway County Jail.
