Paris, Tenn.–Atkins-Porter Neighborhood residents and area garden lovers are invited to help plant and mulch the city of Paris’ first botanical garden, located at 311 Jackson Street.
Work days for the Atkins-Porter Neighborhood Botanical Garden are weekends from November 16 – December 1. Saturday work begins at 9 am and Sunday work begins at 1 pm. For more information or questions, call 731-336-4911 or check Atkins Porter Neighborhood on FB.
The park already has a pavilion, electrical wiring receptacles and ceiling fan, along with a curved path made of pavers. Several trees of different varieties including Japanese maple, dogwood, and red bud have already been planted.
Residents of the neighborhood have been gathering at the park for work days for the past several months.
