Buchanan, TN – Lakewood School’s 100 Mile Club will be hosting a service project for Trek for Troops from 3-5 p.m. Veteran’s Day, November 11. Club members will be walking laps on Lakewood School’s paved trail to raise funds for the Dark Horse Lodge.
Community members are welcome to come walk with the Club members and participate in collecting pledges or walk and donate your miles to the students. “Our goal is for the group to reach a total of 100 miles in 2 hours. We need more people to help us reach this goal,”according to Coordinated School Health Director Stephanie Winders.
Trek for Troops is a national fundraiser for Darkhorse Lodge and this is the fifth year hosting this fun event. Darkhorse Lodge is a retreat located in Henry County for combat veterans of all branches of service to come to relax, fish on Kentucky Lake, enjoy area activities and communicate with others who have walked in their boots, all at no cost.
