As should be a surprise to no one, our local area has moved into the first stages of drought conditions.
According to the latest National Drought map, all of west Kentucky and Northwest Tennessee are now classified as being abnormally dry and that is the first of the five-tier level of drought classification.
Most of eastern Kentucky and Tennessee are already at more serious levels of moderate drought.
