More local municipalities have now issued burn bans as dry conditions continue in our area.
Calloway County Judge Executive Kenny Imes issued a county-wide ban on opening burning Monday and new burn bans also have been issued by McKenzie and Henry.
In our area, burn bans already have been issued by Murray, Camden, Martin, Fulton and Hickman Counties.
The Tennessee Division of Forestry announced burn permits will be required statewide earlier than usual. A permit is required for outdoor burning as of Monday, Sept. 23.
Typically, burn permits are required statewide Oct. 15-May 15.
