Paris, Tenn.–A McKenzie man is being held in the Henry County Jail on $125,000 bond after his arrest on numerous charges involving aggravated statutory rape and aggravated burglary.
Perry Wayne Risner, age 33, of 62 Forrest Circle, McKenzie, was arrested by Henry County Sheriff’s Deputies on three counts of aggravated statutory rape, four counts of violation of the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry, and four counts of aggravated burglary.
According to Captain Adam Jenkins, Risner is on the sex offender registry due to an aggravated sexual battery conviction from Stewart County in 2007 and is known to frequent the Walmart stores in Paris and Huntingdon where he is believed to have approached females. Jenkins said because of this, there may be other victims.
According to the press release, the Henry County investigation began the evening of August 18 when a report of a suspicious person at a Mays Bridge Road residence was received. A second suspicious person call was received from there the afternoon of August 20 and at that time, Risner was located in the area. He was arrested for criminal trespassing and weapons violation after non-firearm type weapons were found his his vehicle. At that time, Risner made bond and was released from jail.
Further investigation found that Risner engaged in a relationship with a minor since May and current charges stem from that, according to the press release. Risner was arrested for violation of probation warrants in Carroll County on August 22 and was transported to the Henry County Jail today (August 28).
Risner will appear in Henry County General Sessions Court on the new charges on August 29.
Jenkins asked that anyone with information on other activities or victims is asked to call Investigator Gary Vandiver at 731 642 1672 or the confidential helpline at 731 642 0929.
