McKenzie, Tenn.–The Barons musical group of Paris drew a huge crowd Saturday night at the Southern Fried and Sweet Tea Festival in downtown McKenzie, as did the Bethel Renaissance performers. Indeed, there was much to entertain the crowds, including numerous arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, petting zoo and a carnival. During the intermission between the Barons and Renaissance performances, McKenzie Mayor Jill Holland introduced the family of the late Dr. Volker Winkler who presented a bench in his honor for the city’s Splash Pad, which also is located downtown. Winkler’s daughter Kirsten Sass thanked the people of McKenzie for remembering their father and their family.
