Paris, Tenn.–With the new budget year that began in July the city of Paris will begin milling and paving on Monday, August 26 and continue until all streets listed below have been completed.
To comply with current ADA requirements, the city will be correcting any non-compliant corners of streets where sidewalks are present as they are paved. As an example as seen in the photo, the City’s Public Works Department has rehabbed the sidewalk/curb at the entrance to Eiffel Tower Park in preparation for milling and paving on Volunteer Drive.
Every three or four years the City’s Public Works Department rates every street within the city and gives it a score. The streets with the highest scores are the ones in the worst shape and get priority when it comes time to decide which streets are paved each year. For the past several years the City has increased its paving budget in an effort to make as many improvements as possible.
