Cottage Grove Council Eyes Future Use Of Former School Building

Cottage Grove, Tenn.—With the Cottage Grove Christian School now moved out of the former Cottage Grove School building, the city’s Legislative Council is eyeing its future use.
At Tuesday night’s council meeting, members discussed the building’s future. Council has submitted a bid for purchase of inventory, but has not bought anything yet. A room is still being rented for use of City Hall. Mayor David Jackson said he will contact Owner Mark Atkins about the future building use.
The Christian School has moved to the Lee Academy for the Arts in Paris and is now renamed Weston Classical School.
In other business, it was reported no bids were received for the rental of the city’s retail building. A motion to advertise the building for another month died for lack of a second.
Car Wood presented an itemized proposal for the remaining inventory in the retail building for the price of $20,000. Another quote was given for the outside storage building. Matthew McClure made a motion to present a counter offer for $15,000, without the outside storage building. John Weiher seconded the motion and motion carried
