Graves County Man In Custody After Shooting At Neighbors

Pilot Oak, Ky.—A Pilot Oak, Ky. man is in custody in the Graves County Jail on several charges of wanton endangerment after he allegedly shot at a neighbor family, including small children.
Graves County Chief Deputy Davant Ramage was dispatched to the shots fired call around 8:30 p.m. Saturday night in the 2000 block of Hudson Road in Pilot Oak. Upon arrival, he learned that a couple were in their yard playing with their four small children when several shots were fired and the rounds went just overhead of the family through the trees.
The family fell to the ground and after a few minutes ran into the house and called 911, according to the press release.
Chief Deputy Ramage then responded to a nearby residence from where the gunfire appeared to come. Contact was made with Javier Garcia, 31 years of age, of Hudson Road.
According to the release, Garcia admitted to having fired off several rounds and drinking alcohol as well. Garcia had been firing a 30-30 rifle as well as a .38 pistol. Garcia said he had been upset at the neighbor earlier but did not fire the shots out of anger and felt he was firing in a safe manner and direction.
Garcia was arrested without incident and lodged in the Graves County Jail. Garcia was charged with six counts of wanton endangerment and his weapons were confiscated as evidence.
