Home In State Park Heavily Damaged By Fire

 

Buchanan, Tenn.—A home at Paris Landing State Park was heavily damaged by fire Wednesday night which was quickly extinguished by the Paris Landing Volunteer Fire Department and Paris Fire Department.
Fire Chief Reggie Coles said his department was dispatched at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to 21 TVA Access Road inside the park on a report of a house with smoke coming out of it.
The house is owned by Paris Landing State Park and is the residence of Golf Course Manager and his wife, Keith and Natalie Hickman.
Coles said the fire was in the kitchen was quickly extinguished. However, the residence suffered heavy fire and smoke damage in the kitchen and dining room with heavy smoke and soot damage to the rest of the structure.
No one was home at the time of the fire. Damage is estimated at $75,000. Paris Landing Department sent four trucks and 16 firefighters at the scene for two hours, while Paris Fire had one truck and two firefighters assisting.
Coles said the cause has not be determined, but is believed to be accidental.
