Paris, Tenn.–The children classes at Paris Karate raised $1872.65 for the St. Jude Children’s Hospital during its recent week-long fundraiser. The theme for this year’s “Kata Thon” was “Children Helping Children”.
A total of 116 students participated in the event, performing a total of 328 kata in class and 705 outside class.
Gail Ellis, a Brown Belt set a new record with 660 kata at home during the
week. Aubrey Thomasson raised the most money for St. Jude, bringing in $350.
Students that participated in this fund raiser helped children at St. Jude
while they benefited from practicing their karate skills.
