Two UC Suspects Attempt To Get Away On Bikes

Union City, Tenn.—Union City Police made two assault arrests in two separate incidents in which the alleged perpetrators attempted to get away on bicycles.
On Sunday, police were responding to N. 4th St. in a report possible assault and while en route saw a white male traveling on a bicycle at high speed and officers noticed the man on the bike kept looking behind him and was nearly struck by a vehicle.
An officer was sent to talk to him while the other officer went to the location of the assault and found that Richie Turnbow had been there and threw a brick through a parked vehicle’s windshield. A couple at the home said Turnbow had entered their home without their permission and tried to cut one of them and then threw a concrete object through the vehicle windshield.
One of the home’s occupant said she confronted Turnbow in the front yard after he threw the object and he took a swing at her with the knife and took off on a black bike.
Turnbow, age 34, of 504 N. Division St., was charged with aggravated burglary, felony vandalism and two counts of aggravated assault.
In the other incident, police were called to the Little General at 2019 Reelfoot Ave. Friday night on a report of an assault in the parking lot.
Witnesses told police that Micah Watts, age 26, of 711 W. Washington Ave., pulled a knife on another person at the entrance. According to the report, Watts then got on a bicycle and left. He was located by the Tennessee Highway Patrol and arrested on a charge of aggravated assault.
