Graves Co. Fiscal Court Theft Leads Investigators, US Marshals To New Orleans

Mayfield, Ky.—A man from Hawaii has been charged with credit card fraud after making over $8,000 in charges on the Graves County Fiscal Court credit card. The charges were made in the New Orleans area and the arrest was made with the help of the U.S. Marshal’s Service and Louisiana State Police.
On Thursday, July 11, Graves County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Richard Edwards began investigating a complaint from the Fiscal Court in reference to credit card fraud.
Sheriff Jon Hayden said the complaint stemmed from a Regions Bank card issued to the Graves County Fiscal Court that had been fraudulently used in the New Orleans area. The suspect had charged in excess of $8,000 on the card.
During the investigation with a cab company in New Orleans, a suspect was named after Sgt. Edwards found several transactions were made in the area.

Sgt. Edwards reached out to local law enforcement to positively identify the suspect. The US Marshal’s Service based in New Orleans was able to identify the suspect as 48-year-old Sean Allen Waszily of Wailuku, Hawaii.
At the time, Waszily had active fugitive warrants in several states. Over the next several days agents began surveillance on him.
On Tuesday, July 16, Deputy US Marshal Brian Fair contacted Sgt. Edwards and informed him that Waszily was arrested.
The Graves County Sheriffs Office would like to thank the following agencies for their help in identifying, locating, and arresting Waszily.
-US Marshals Service New Orleans, Louisiana
-US Marshals Service Southern District of Florida, Miami, Florida

All unauthorized purchases have been credited back to the Graves County Fiscal Court. Waszily will face federal charges as well as local charges in Louisiana.
