Union City, Tenn.—Four Union City women were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and assault after an incident which allegedly began over an argument over a family member’s ashes.
Brianna Garner, age 22, was charged with aggravated assault and vandalism; Hailey Cantrell, age 24, was charged with aggravated assault; Vicki Charlton, age 52, was charged with disorderly conduct; and Micah Emery, age 24, was charged with disorderly conduct.
On arrival at the scene on Greenwood St., officers found several females and one male screaming and yelling and saw a car with a busted-out window. Officers separated all the individuals to make sense of the situation, according to the police report.
Emery said she had been told her grandfather’s ashes were at a Greenwood St. residence and she, Cantrell and Charlton went there. According to the report, a verbal argument became physical.
According to statements given to the police, Cantrell had a tire tool and Garner had a survival knife during the altercation. The police report states, “Through investigation it was determined that all involved did commit a crime.”
