Paris, Tenn.—Meeting all day Monday, the Henry County Grand Jury issued 37 indictments, including an indictment of the Paris man accused of the aggravated robbery of the former Fred’s discount store in December.
Cameron Humphreys, age 22, of Patriot Avenue, was arrested by Paris Police after the robbery in which he is accused of pointing what appeared to be a gun at store employees and demanding money. When the store manager refused to give him money, Humphreys is accused of taking a total of $130 from the register. The gun was found to be an air soft pistol.
As reported at the time, Humphreys was arrested in the field behind the nursing home next door.
A total of 38 cases were presented to the grand jury Monday, but one case was dismissed.
As always, the bulk of the indictments involved drug and alcohol cases, with numerous cases involving burglaries and robberies and assaults.
Several cases involved crimes committed against children, including an indictment issued against Johnny Elkins of Buchanan on a charge of rape of a child.
Other cases involving children: Jesse O’Daniel, Paris, aggravated child endangerment; Ashley Pinkard, Paris, two counts aggravated child endangerment; Rhonda Flowers, Paris, aggravated child endangerment; Mark Lee Pierce, Paris, aggravated child abuse.
