Aurora, Ky.–Kentucky Dam Marina will remain closed to all traffic and boaters until further notice due to major damage there and at Kentucky Dam State Park during last night’s storm. A pier at the marina was blown away at the height of the storm and other damage was sustained. No injuries were reported.
The Marshall County Emergency Management Agency is praising the first responders for their actions Friday night. “Outstanding response support tonight,” officials said. “Lots of trees down throughout the county and in Calvert City, semis blown over on the interstate, electric lines down, and major damage at Ky Dam State Park and Ky Dam Marina.”
Multiple local agencies and numerous surrounding counties sent resources to assist.
And to repeat: Kentucky Dam Marina will be closed to all traffic and boaters until further notice. You will be turned around at the entrance do to response agencies and safety issues.
