Huntingdon, Tenn.–Five area attorneys have applied for the vacant position of Chancellor for the 24th District and interviews have been scheduled before the State Trial Court Vacancy Commission Tuesday, June 25, in Camden.
The five include: Shon Johnson and Rebecca Griffey of Paris; Brent Bradberry of McKenzie; Jennifer King of Huntingdon and Vance Dennis of Savannah.
According to the applications which are available for public view at TNCourts.gov., all of the five have extensive experience in both public and private practice.
The commission will conduct interviews with the five all day Tuesday at Camden High School and the sessions are open to the public. At the end of the day, the commission will recommend three finalists and their names will be forwarded to the office of Governor Bill Lee for a final decision, according to Henry County Clerk and Master Mary Burns.
This vacancy was created by the appointment and confirmation of Judge Carma Dennis McGee to the Court of Appeals, Western Section. McGee announced her resignation in April to accept the Court of Appeals position. The chancery court judge position which covers Benton, Carroll, Decatur, Hardin, and Henry counties.
The Trial Court Vacancy Commission will hold the Public Hearing and Interviews beginning at 9 a.m. at the Camden Central High School’s Library Center, 115 Schools Drive, Camden, 38320.
At the sessions anyone may express their opinions in opposition to the applicants.
