Paris, Tenn.—A Big Sandy woman was arrested for impersonating an attorney while handing out business cards at the Henry County Courthouse. She was appearing in the local court, attempting to represent a defendant in court proceedings.
Sabrina Burns, age 39, was arrested by Paris Police on a charge of criminal impersonation of a licensed professional and taken to the Henry County Jail. Bond was set at $5,000.
Paris Police Investigator Jeramye Whitaker told WENK/WTPR that Burns was seen handing out business cards “trying to represent herself as an attorney”. Whitaker said it appeared suspicious and upon investigation it was determined that she is not a licensed attorney.
He said the investigation continues. “She is possibly doing this in other counties,” he said.
