Paris, Tenn.–As they do every year, Boy Scout Troop 28 members were up bright and early this year to place flags at the graves of local veterans in honor of Memorial Day. In photo, Scouts Fisher Lawrence and Riley McDevitt, along with Assistant Scoutmaster Mark Hamilton place flags on graves at Maplewood Cemetery. Scouts have been busy all over our area with service projects this Memorial Day holiday, including in Dover, where they placed flags along the roadways and at Fort Donelson National Battlefield Cemetery, where they also placed flags at graves. Dover officials said, “The Town always receives compliments about the flags and we want to make sure the Boy Scouts get the credit for this project. Great job as always.” Photo by Butch Powers.
