Brighton, Tenn.–Dr. Brian Norton has been hired as Brighton High School Principal and will begin his new position July 1. Dr. Norton will continue as Henry County Schools Director until June 30.
Dr. Norton told WENK/WTPR this morning he looks forward to the new challenges ahead. “It’s a good school and a good system. And, my wife and I realized–we’ll just be 40 minutes away from our first grandchild who will be born in nine days. So this will be perfect timing. That will be an extra benefit,” he said.
Dr. Norton announced his pending resignation as Director of Henry County Schools earlier this school year and Obion County Director of Schools Dr. Leah Watkins has been hired to replace him in Henry County.
Brighton is located in Tipton County in west Tennessee and Dr. Norton noted that Henry Countians already are familiar with many of the athletic and FFA programs in Covington and Munford.
At Brighton High School, Dr. Norton is replacing Christie Huffman, who is retiring. A meet and greet reception was held Tuesday at Brighton High School for faculty to meet Dr. Norton.
