The National Weather Service in Memphis is confirming two tornadoes touched down in our area—one in Ridgely in Lake County and the other in Hornbeak in Obion County—last night. A third tornado touched down in Caruthersville, Mo.
An EFO tornado touched down near Ridgely after forming west of Bluff Road. It uprooted trees and crossed the road. It was 80 mph with a path of .2 miles and a width of 100 yards.
The Hornbeak tornado was an EFO, as well, with a path of .2 miles and width of 100 yards. It also uprooted trees and broke tree limbs as it crossed Hwy. 21.
The Caruthersville twister also was an EFO with a speed of 80 mph and it uprooted trees before crossing the Mississippi levee.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported with the twisters.
