Union City Man Charged With Aggravated Assault

Union City, Tenn.–A Union City man was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, domestic assault and evading arrest after an incident in which he assaulted a woman and a child.
Obion County Deputies responded to Salem Church Rd in reference to a domestic dispute.
According to the press release, upon arrival deputies were informed that Thomas Lee Henry Bryant, age 36, had become enraged and slashed the victim’s car tire. He then grabbed the victim by the throat, slung her across the yard, knocked her to the ground, and attempted to suffocate her face down in the mud, using his foot. During the assault, he also assaulted a child on the premises.

Prior to the deputies arrival, Bryant fled into a shop and locked himself inside. When entry was made inside the building, deputies discovered Bryant had locked himself behind two additional doors that led to other rooms. Once contact was finally made with the subject, he was taken into custody without incident. Bryant was charged with Aggravated Assault, Domestic Assault, and Evading Arrest.
