Obion Co. Corrections Officers Intercept Cocaine

Union City, Tenn.–Obion County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop near South Fulton and the driver, Stephon Deandrae Macklin, age 31, of Columbus KY, refused to present his driver’s license and became combative, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.
After a brief encounter, Macklin was subdued. Upon investigation, he was found to be in possession of high-grade marijuana. He was advised he was being transported to the Obion County Jail and if he had any other contraband on his person it would be in his best interest to advise investigators before entering the jail.

According to the press release, Macklin declined. Upon processing into the jail, Corrections staff intercepted a white baggie containing cocaine on his person. He is charged with Possession of Schedule 6, Possession of Schedule 2, Resisting Arrest, and Introduction of Contraband into Penal Institution.
