One Charged With Child Abuse, Two Charged With Retaliation

Murray, Ky.–An Almo man has been arrested on a charge of child abuse and two other people from New Concord have been charged with retaliating against someone involved in the legal process. Murray Police Detective Wiggins obtained arrest warrants for the three subjects that stemmed from an investigation that began in late February.
The investigation began as possible abuse of a young juvenile, according to Sgt. Brant Shutt. During the course of the investigation Detective Wiggins spoke with multiple family members. Based on the information that was obtained an arrest warrant was obtained for Phalen Stover, age 26, of Almo, on the charge of 4th degree assault, child abuse.
Additionally, during the investigation a person who reported the events was contacted and threatened by the family of Stover. A warrant was also obtained for Duane Conklin, age 50, and Darana Conklin, age 44, both of New Concord for the charge of retaliating against a participant in a legal process.
All three arrest warrants were issued and served. Phalen Stover, Duane Conklin, and Darana Conklin were each taken into custody and lodged in the Calloway County Jail.
