BPU Holds Toiletry Drive For Damascus House, Hope Center Ministries

Paris, TN – Board of Public Utilities (BPU) hosted a company-wide toiletry drive in March with items being donated to two local organizations- The Damascus House and Hope Center Ministries. BPU employees personally donated over 300 items helping to relieve a portion of the financial burden on these non-profit organizations.
“At the heart of BPU’s mission is community involvement – events like this allow our employees to live out that portion of our mission,” said BPU Business Manager Beverly Underwood. “We love this community, it is our home, we raise our families here and we want to support our neighbors however we can.”
The drive originally was planned to assist just one of the organizations but when BPU’s 79 employees donated over 4 items a piece, they looked for ways to help another organization with a similar need. The Damascus house is a local shelter for women and children who are homeless or who have experienced domestic violence and Hope Center Ministries is a Christian based residential program helping women who struggle with addiction and trauma.
