Tree Giveaway In Paris A Tremendous Success

Paris, Tenn.–There was overwhelming response to the tree giveaway Friday by the city of Paris and the Paris Board of Public Utilities, with all 350 trees being given away. The city and BPU gave away Northern Red Oak, Eastern Redbud, Loblolly Pine and Wild Plum trees at two locations: the Eiffel Tower Park and the BPU headquarters on W. Washington St.
The lines were long all morning at the city giveaway at the Eiffel Tower Park and City Community Development Director Jennifer Morris said all 250 trees they gave away were given away by 11:25 a.m. “And the lines stayed long the whole time”, she said. At BPU, the giveaway started slow but heated up later in the morning.
The tree giveaway program was entitled “Rooted In Paris”.
