Perry's BBQ Opens New Sit-Down Restaurant

By Shannon McFarlin WENK/WTPR News Director
Paris, Tenn.–It’s a big day for Patrick and April Perry of Paris–and a big day for all the fans of Perry’s BBQ.
It’s been a dream for the Perry’s for years and today it finally came true with the opening of a sit-down restaurant for Perry’s BBQ in the Kroger shopping center. Perry’s BBQ will now have two locations: the new one and its current location at the corner of Ruff and Market Streets in downtown Paris, where quick to-go orders will continue to be served.
At today’s ribbon-cutting, April and Patrick Perry talked about how thankful and grateful they are to all that have helped them over the years and those who helped them create their dream sit-down restaurant.
“This is so emotional,” April said. “Patrick had a dream about this. He dreamed that the restaurant would be already set and we could just walk in” and open. And that’s what happened, she said, with only cosmetic touches needed to make the restaurant ready in the space which formerly housed Big Ed’s Burritos.
Patrick said, “All the glory goes to God. God made this happen.”
To show their appreciation to the city of Paris for supporting them, the Perry’s served dinner to everyone at the ribbon-cutting–for free.
The ribbon-cutting was hosted by the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce and Chamber President Scott Morrison said, “We’re proud that your dream is finally coming true.”
The menu is cafeteria style–which April said is what she really wanted in a restaurant–and it includes special days with discounts and specials: Mondays are Soul Food Monday; Tuesdays are Team Tuesdays for local sports players; Wings Wednesdays; Teacher Thursdays and Public Servant Fridays for first responders and city and county officials.
The restaurant includes a wide variety with BBQ, pulled pork, grilled bologna, chicken, hamburgers, ribs and other entrees along with sides such as roasted potatoes, broccoli and cheese casserole, cheesy potatoes, sweet potato casserole, BBQ nachos, desserts and more.
Perry’s will continue with their catering business, as well.
Grand opening is Thursday. The restaurant opens at 10:30 a.m. and stays open until 8 p.m.

Patrick and April Perry thank everyone as Chamber President Scott Morrison looks on.

Yes, it’s that good.
