Shots-Fired Incident Investigated In Martin

Martin, Tenn.–A shots-fired incident in Martin early Sunday morning is still being investigated by Martin Police. No one was reported injured, but the front door to a business was shot out and several vehicles were hit by bullets.
On Sunday, March 17, at approximately 12:35 am, Patrol Captain Eric Reed was in the area of a parking lot adjacent to Slide and Ride Saloon, which is located at 627 North Lindell St. in Martin.  On the other side of the parking lot shots were fired, according to Assistant Police Chief Phillip Fuqua.
Fuqua said, “As the shots were being fired, an extremely large number of people began to flee the area on foot and in vehicles.  No one has been reported as injured at this time, however several vehicles were hit by bullets and the front door to the club was shot out.”
Officers did recover nine spent shell casings in the parking lot and it was discovered that the shots followed a large fight involving several subjects near the front door.  The investigation continues by the Martin Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.
