Dover, Tenn.–At a traffic stop Friday night, Stewart County Sheriff’s deputies seized 30 pounds of marijuana with a street value of some $400,000.
Sheriff Frankie Gray said the marijuana is of high grade and may be the largest amount of processed marijuana ever seized in the county.
Deputy Lee Miller made the traffic stop and the sheriff said he did an excellent job of drug interdiction.
Arrested was Stanley Beasley Jr., age 27, of Memphis. He is in jail with a $400,000 bond.
Sheriff Gray said, “Drug arrests are up significantly over the past four months compared to this time last year.” He said Friday’s arrest and seizure “are just a drop in the bucket of what’s coming into this county.”
