GREENFIELD, Tenn. – The Bethel University Women’s tennis program added an all-region performer Friday with the signing of Greenfield High School standout Samantha Stone. She is the daughter of Larry Stone and Malia Bugg. Also in attendance at the signing was her stepfather, Steve Bugg. Samantha will major in Business.
Samantha had an outstanding record in singles action for the Yellow Jackets at 27-7. She helped lead her squad to the TSSAA state tournament.
She feels her biggest strength is her mental approach to the game.
Off the courts she is a member of the Library Club and the ACT + Club.
Coach Derrick Hubble stated, “We are extremely excited to sign a player of the caliber of Samantha. She is an outstanding player and person. She is a local standout who brings state tournament appearance to our women’s program. She brings a great competitive edge to us I feel we need. She will be a huge part of our future SSAC presence and I look forward to watching her grow as a student-athlete.”
