Dresden, Tenn.—Two people are now in custody following a South Fulton bank robbery earlier Wednesday morning.
Weakley Co. Sheriff’s Captain Randall McGowan said his department was notified at 10:49 a.m. that Simmons Bank in South Fulton had just been robbed and that a subject was traveling toward Dresden.
McGowan said when they were advised the vehicle may be on Oak Grove Road, Chief Deputy Mark Black, Investigator Eric Smith and Dresden Chief of Police Steve Howe stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Lower Sharon Rd. and Oak Grove Rod and two people were taken into custody.
He said some of the stolen money was recovered from the vehicle.
