Jackson State-Murray State Officials Sign Agreement

Paris, Tenn.–Representatives from Jackson State Community College and Murray State University sat down together Monday at Paris City Hall to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the two higher education institutions.
The agreement will allow Jackson State students to complete their first two years of college free of tuition via the Tennessee Promise program and then transfer to Murray State to complete a four year degree.

Jackson State Community College offers local classes at the Central Services Building in Paris. Paris City officials said, “We are very fortunate to have Jackson State courses offered here in our community which makes it much easier for students to get the continuing education they want and need to be competitive. With this new path they can now be assured of a more affordable avenue for a four year degree. We couldn’t be more excited about what this offers our community.”

Present for the signing were Dr. Allana Hamilton, Jackson State President, Dr. Larry Bailey, Jackson State VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Robert Jackson, Murray State Interim President, and Dr. Mark Arant, Murray State Provost.
