UPDATE: Murray Standoff Over; Road Reopened To Traffic

Murray, Ky.—The Calloway Co. Sheriff’s Office has given the all clear to the public and reopened 12th Street in Murray to traffic following a standoff with a man who had barricaded himself at a motel.
Multiple agencies were involved in the standoff in the early morning hours Saturday and Calloway Co. Sheriff Sam Steger ordered 12th Street closed to traffic and advised the public to stay away from the area.
The man reportedly is wanted on federal charges and U.S. Marshals and deputies tried to serve a warrant at the Murray Inn and Art Gallery (former Murray Plaza Lodge) on 12th St. (Hwy. 641).
The man reportedly barricaded himself inside a room with his wife and daughter inside.
The Calloway Co. Sheriff’s Office sent out a notice to media around 7 a.m. stating that the standoff was over and the road was reopened. They also said a press release on the incident will be released later.
