Weakley Co. Deputies, Police Officers, Court Personnel Take Kids On Spree

Martin, Tenn.—Fifty underprivileged children from Weakley Co. were taken on a shopping spree for Christmas Thursday night by Weakley Co. Sheriff’s deputies, Martin Police and Dresden Police officers, members of the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, the Department of Children’s Services and the 911 Center.
The program is called, “Shop With Sheriff Smith and Justice” and is named after a children’s book written by Sheriff’s Investigator Eric Smith.
Each child was given $100 to buy clothes and toys and was escorted on the spree, which was held at the Martin Walmart. Walmart also supplied blankets and other items to each child and they were given Bibles by the officers.
Officers thank all the people and businesses who donated money or played in the fund-raising golf tournament.
