Dyersburg, Tenn.—Dyersburg Police have released surveillance photos from a shooting incident and vandalism at the Kroger Store on Lake Road around 2 a.m. Friday. They are asking the public’s help in locating the suspects.
Officers spoke with an employee that showed officers the entrance door had been shattered by an apparent bullet. Upon further inspection a wall inside the front entrance was damaged by the bullet that appeared to be fired from the direction of the Lake Road Food Shop. Officers found a shell casing between the fuel pumps at that location and found that the clerk did hear some popping noises earlier in the parking lot.
The store video surveillance footage showed a black male with dreadlock hair arriving in a white Pontic Grand Prix to get fuel. While he was getting fuel, three black males arrived in what appeared to be a silver Chevrolet Impala. Two of the black males from the Chevrolet got out of the vehicle and entered the store to make a purchase and appeared to have exchanged words with the driver of the Pontiac. After they made their purchase and were walking toward their vehicle, the suspect in the Pontiac produced a handgun and fired at the victims. The victims fled on foot and the suspect backed out and drove away. The victims got back into their vehicle and left the scene. Since the victims did not make a report of the altercation, Dyersburg Police is asking that anyone with information about this incident to please call the Criminal Investigation Division at 731.288.7679 or Crime Stoppers at 731.285.TIPS.
