Carver Speaks At NCAA Meet

Martin, Tenn. – Dr. Keith Carver, chancellor of the University of Tennessee at Martin, served as an invited speaker July 19 during the NCAA/Women Leaders Executive Institute in Kansas City, Mo.
Carver and his co-presenter, Dr. Mark Nook, president of Northern Iowa University, spoke on the topic “Why We Hire Who We Hire.” The presentation focused on the perspectives of university chancellors and presidents when filling major athletics positions, specifically the traits and qualities sought in directors and commissioners.

The Women Leaders Executive Institute is a program designed for women working in the field of intercollegiate athletics who possess the skillset and have the intention to become athletics directors or commissioners within the next five years.

Carver made the trip to Kansas City after spending July 13-14 representing Tennessee’s four-year institutions at Complete College America’s Summer Action Summit in Indianapolis, Ind.
