Stewart County Adds First-Ever K9 To Sheriff's Department

Dover, Tenn.—The Stewart Co. Sheriff’s Office now has its first-ever K9 team. Sheriff Frankie Gray introduced the newest member of the sheriff’s office—Harry, a Belgian Malinois who arrived from Poland last week.
Harry is partnered with Deputy Robbie MacDonald.
According to Public Information Officer Paulette Redman, Harry is a trained drug/apprehension and track dog.
Gray said he is proud to see Stewart Co. moving forward to help keep citizens safer and hopes to add an additional dog by this time next year.
The town of Dover provided approximately half of the funds for the purchase of Harry and he will be available to assist city officers, too.
Redman said the addition of Harry to the sheriff’s office is part of the strategy that is being put in place to fight Stewart County’s drug problem by Sheriff Gray, County Mayor Robin Brandon, Dover Mayor Lesa Fitzhugh and Dover Police Chief Kim Wallace.
