Union City, Tenn.—Two people were injured, including a two-year-old, and both drivers were cited following an accident in Union City around 5:10 p.m. Saturday.
Sandreas Smith, age 22, of Union City, was cited for following too close, no insurance and not having proper registration. The other driver, Matias Refugio, age 38, of Union City, was cited for having no driver’s license.
Refugio and a two-year-old girl were both injured and transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.
According to the police report, both vehicles were eastbound on E. Main Street and Refugio’s car was in front of Smith’s when Refugio attempted to turn left onto N. Greenwood. Smith’s car was too close to the other vehicle and tried to go around him and struck his vehicle in the right rear.
