Two Arrests, Synthetic Drugs Seized At Mayfield Store

 
Mayfield, Ky.—A co-owner and employee of a Mayfield convenience store were arrested and a large number of synthetic drugs and paraphernalia was seized.
The raid was conducted at Marathan Chek Mart, located at 300 Wyatt Drive.
Arrested were Saileshkumar Patel, age 48, one of the co-owners, and Mangalbhai Patel, age 73, an employee, both of Mayfield. Both were charged with trafficking in synthetic drugs, first offense; and drug paraphernalia charges.
Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon said a covert investigation has been ongoing that resulted in a search warrant being issued.
The Sheriff’s Office had to cease operations of the business while conducting the raid. During the search of the store, a large quantity of illegal synthetic drugs were seized along with several articles of drug paraphernalia, including glass pipes used for smoking methamphetamine, glass pipes used for smoking crack cocaine, grinders, electronic digital scales, glass pipes normally seen that are used for smoking marijuana, plastic baggies that are commonly used for drug trafficking.
