Scam Traffic Violation Letter Being Circulated In Henry County

Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Sheriff’s Office has received a “scam letter” sent to a local citizen stating that the citizen owed money for a past due traffic violation.
The letter is written on what purports to be Henry County, Tennessee, letterhead with the phone number of the sheriff’s office at the top.
Captain Adam Jenkins said, “Although this is the first letter we have received, we want the public to be aware that the Henry County Sheriff’s Office does NOT send letters in reference to traffic violations nor any other offense. If you happen to receive one of these letters please notify us at 731-642-1672.”
