Dover, Tenn.—The Stewart County Sheriff’s Office is reporting an apparent overdose death occurred in the county Sunday morning.
According to a Facebook post by the sheriff’s office, an unresponsive white female, age 52, was driven to Bev’s Market on Hwy. 120 and after 911 was called, the woman was pronounced dead by County Coroner Greg Barrow.
According to the sheriff office’s Public Information Officer, Paulette Redman, this follows two incidents in the past couple of days in which two people had apparent overdoses. “The sheriff’s deputies used Narcan and brought the victims back to life,” she said.
This comes on the same day that Metro Police in Nashville reported two people were found unconscious outside a vehicle with their infant daughter unattended in the back seat. The incident occurred on Rosa Parks Blvd. Friday afternoon. A passerby saw the two adults passed out and called 911.
Narcan also was administered in that case to Robert Anderson, age 25, and he was revived at St. Thomas Hospital. His wife, Kandice Roberts, age 23, regained consciousness on her own.
The little baby was left in the back seat with the car doors wide open, according to the arrest report and some of the drugs were on the seat next to the child. Police said they found heroin, pills and marijuana.
The couple are charged with child endangerment and drug possession.
