Paris, Tenn.—Paris Police are still seeking the hit and run driver who crashed into a power pole Halloween night on Walnut Street, knocking out power for several hours.
Power was knocked out in the immediate area of the wreck Halloween night and then for several hours more on Thursday morning as Paris Board of Public Utility (BPU) workers replaced the pole.
According to the police report, the accident occurred around 11:35 p.m. and when Patrolman David Beauvais arrived, he found the pole was broken. A resident near the Walnut-Blakemore Street intersection said she heard a crash and saw a small car in the street, doing doughnuts before it headed east out of the neighborhood.
Police also found tire tracks at the scene which showed the car ran a stop sign on Blakemore and then hit the pole head-on.
