Trenton, Tenn.—A Trenton man has been charged with second degree murder in the shooting death of another Trenton man Friday afternoon.
Brad Johnson, age 36, has been charged with both second degree murder and unlawful possession of a firearm. He is being held without bond at the Gibson Co. Correctional Complex.
At 5:21 p.m. Friday, the Trenton Police received a report of a person being shot on Lexington St. at the intersection with Second Street. When officers arrived, they found the victim in the road with a gunshot wound.
The victim was identified as Bill Smith, age 43, of Trenton. He was transported to Humboldt Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Johnson will be arraigned in Trenton Municipal Court Monday.
