Paris, Tenn.—A Paris man was caught recording a movie at the Parisian Theater and was arrested, charged with unlawful operation of audio/video equipment.
Eleantay McClure, age 25, was transported to the Henry Co. Jail after his arrest by Lt. Ean Reed, who was working security at the theater Friday night.
In a Facebook post, the owners of the Parisian Theater made clear they will not tolerate anyone videotaping one of their movies. They pointed out they are a small, family-owned theater and will not tolerate piracy.
In their post, they said, “Someone was caught recording a movie in one of our auditoriums tonight. Though we are sure this is not the first time, we are hopeful it will be the last. The person is in custody and will be charged to the fullest extent of the law! Please realize that though we are a small town, family owned theatre, we do not tolerate piracy in any form! This is unacceptable!!!”
The owners said, “We have already been in contact with the studio…and local distributors. Please, do not mistake our kindness for weakness! We LOVE our patrons and are beyond thankful!!!!!… But we will NOT tolerate this mess.”
