Warrants Issued For Suspect In Indian Mound Homicide, Home Invasion

Indian Mound, Tenn.—Warrants have been issued for a Big Rock man for the homicide and home invasion which happened in Indian Mound last week.
 
Stewart Co. Sheriff Frankie Gray announced tonight that several warrants have been issued for Kirby Gene Wallace, age 53, of Big Rock. He is being charged with first degree murder, felony first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, especially aggravated arson, especially aggravated robbery, especially aggravated kidnapping, and especially aggravated burglary.
 
Wallace will be charged with the home invasion and attacks on Brenda and Teddy Smith, which resulted in the death of Brenda Smith and injuries to Teddy Smith. The couple returned from church last Sunday to find the suspect burglarizing their home. The suspect attacked the couple and then set fire to their home.
 
Sheriff Gray said Wallace is 5’10” tall, weighs 160 pounds, has hazel eyes, brown hair and his last known address was 2115 Hwy. 120, Big Rock.
 
Wallace is not in custody and anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asking to call 911.
