Murray, Ky.—A Murray woman has been arrested on a charge of murder following the discovery of a deceased person at a residence east of Murray.
Arrested was Tammy A. Allen, age 54, of Murray. She also was charged with one count of tampering with evidence. Calloway Co. Sheriff Sam Steger, she was arrested overnight in Jackson.
On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office received information of a possible deceased person at 18 Heather Lane. Deputies obtained a search warrant for the residence based on information that a possible crime had been committed at the residence, Steger said.
The search warrant was executed overnight and 56-year-old Jimmie Craig Taylor of Murray was found dead at the residence, Steger said. An autopsy is pending by the Kentucky State Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville, Ky.
Steger said the sheriff’s office was assisted by the Murray Police Department investigations division, the Calloway Co. Coroner’s Office, the Calloway Co. Fire and Rescue and Jackson Police Department.
The investigation is ongoing.
