Dresden Police Officer Struck By Car

 
Dresden, Tenn.—A Dresden Police Officer was struck by a car this morning at Dresden Middle School while he was directing traffic.
Weakley County Sheriff’s deputies were requested to respond to the scene by the Dresden Police after Officer Jordan Rickman was hit by a car around 7 a.m.
According to Deputy Neil Cantrell’s report, Rickman was struck as he approached a vehicle to tell the driver why she could not turn at that spot.
The driver, Anita Braddy, age 66, reportedly accelerated and hit the officer. According to the report, witnesses were on the scene who backed up the officer’s account of what happened.
Braddy was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and failure to exercise due care.
The officer was transported by the Weakley Co. Ambulance Service to Volunteer Hospital in Martin.
A spokesperson at Dresden City Hall told WENK/WTPR the officer was treated at the hospital and has been released.
