Ricky Skaggs, Restless Heart And More At The Dixie This Season

Huntingdon, Tenn.–It’s time again for an exciting new season at The Dixie Carter Performing Arts and Academic Enrichment Center!  The Dixie’s culturally rich 14th season line up promises to do its namesake proud as it welcomes & entertains audiences with nationally recognized musical acts, Broadway-style theatre productions, rich art exhibits and learning opportunities in a one- of-a-kind small town setting.
The Dixie Carter Performing Arts and Academic Enrichment Center TN, is nestled halfway between Memphis and Nashville on the historic square of Huntingdon, TN.  Award winning acts like Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Restless Heart, Jason Crabb, Paul Thorn and Daily & Vincent will soak up The Dixie spotlight this season along with returning stage favorites like Christmas on Broadway featuring Paula Bridges, The Miss Dixie PAC Pageant, and School Time Performance Series. Theatrical productions include Steel Magnolias presented by The Dixie Players and Disney’s The Little Mermaid presented by Bethel University Renaissance Theatre.
One might think it difficult for a venue to embody all the grace and charm of a namesake like Dixie Carter, a lady some might say was more southern than the south itself.  But The Dixie manages to do just that.  And it’s built up quite a following since its opening in 2005.  Loyal patrons and volunteers are adamant that The Dixie is one of the best venues around.
The 471 seat theatre located inside of The Dixie and named for Hal Holbrook, Dixie Carter’s husband, serves as a premier venue for the performing, literary, visual and media arts with state of the art acoustics, lighting and stage.  But at The Dixie, cutting edge doesn’t come at the cost of hospitality. The stage and seating are designed to offer every visitor an up-close experience.
Lori Neal Nolen, Executive Director of The Dixie, glows when she talks about those who work and volunteer at The Dixie to provide memorable experiences for each guest, “I couldn’t be more proud of the staff for their commitment to pursue and present high level, quality events and education opportunities throughout the year. We are so excited about our 2018-2019 Season and our amazing sponsors for supporting the arts and The Dixie.”
